The foundations of the stud were laid unintentionally in 2002. My wife, Johanna Jenkins, an experienced private driving competitor and British Driving Society judge was told of a welsh cob which was for sale.

He turned out to be the extravagant moving stallion Tyhen The Best who was broken to drive. Having been sold to Belgium as a six month old foal he somehow reappeared in a livery yard in Dorset in appalling physical condition. We bought him and restored him to show condition.

In 2003 we bought the first of our current four older cob mares from which to breed. My interest, due to my family upbringing in South Wales, is of the traditional type of cob.To date our foals have been cross bred rather than line bred although both the stallion and the mares pedigrees contain many famous bloodlines which will give exciting opportunities for line breeding in the future.
